How manifest analysis works
- 1. Export or screenshot the manifest. Download the manifest from the auction listing as CSV or XLSX. If the seller only shows it as a PDF or an image, that works too, Pallet IQ reads screenshots and scanned manifests.
- 2. Upload it to the analyzer. Drop the file in and Pallet IQ normalizes columns: SKU, UPC, description, quantity, stated retail, category, and condition notes. Messy headers and merged cells are cleaned automatically.
- 3. Add pallet context. Enter the current bid, expected freight, and your target return. If the lot is unmanifested, describe it instead and the model estimates a category mix.
- 4. Review the SKU breakdown. Each line gets a realistic resale estimate triangulated across major marketplaces, a demand read, and a condition risk flag, instead of trusting the seller's stated MSRP.
- 5. Act on the grade and maximum bid. You get a 0-100 buy score, a letter grade, projected net profit, and the ceiling price that still hits your target return. Bid under it or pass.

- What file types can the manifest analyzer read?
- CSV, XLS, XLSX, PDF, and images including phone photos or screenshots of a manifest. Documents are parsed with AI extraction, so column names and layouts do not need to match a template.
- How accurate are the resale values?
- Values are estimates, not guarantees. Instead of using the seller's stated retail price, the model estimates realistic recovered value per SKU based on current secondary-market pricing patterns, condition, and category demand, and caps it below a retail ceiling. Treat the output as a disciplined starting point for your bid, then adjust with your own sales history.
- Is the manifest analyzer really free?
- Yes. Every account includes three free manifest analyses per month and three free listing generations. Starter adds 20 analyses per month and Pro is unlimited.
- Does a failed or sample analysis use up my monthly quota?
- No. The public sample manifest and any analysis that fails to complete are not counted against your monthly allowance.
- What is a maximum bid and how is it calculated?
- The maximum bid is the highest price you can pay for the lot and still hit your target return after freight, marketplace fees, labor per unit, expected sell-through, and an uncertainty haircut on the weakest SKUs.
- Can I analyze a pallet that has no manifest?
- Yes. Use the pallet context field to describe the lot, retailer, category, unit count, and stated retail, and Pallet IQ models a likely category mix and a conservative bid range.
